A cage refers cashiers or membership windows in casinos. A cashier is the facility at casinos where players can trade in cash for chips and tickets, or trade in their chips and tickets for cash. New players who wish to make accounts or join a membership program will also sometimes go through screening at a cage (membership window). The name comes from the fact that most casino cashiers have a protective cage between the staff and customer.
